Dr. Schatz a Guest At Florey Luncheon

 

Dr. Albert Schatz, formerly of Passaic, was among the guests at the luncheon to honor Sir Howard Florey, Nobel prize winner, at the Lasker residence, 29 Beekman Place, New York City, yesterday.

Sir Howard is visiting this country from England, where his work in penicillin won him the Nobel award.

Dr. Schatz, youthful research specialist, discovered streptomycin while a member of the staff at Rutgers research laboratory. Since August 1 he has been affiliated with the New York State Medical Research Laboratories in Albany. He is specializing in virus research.
